ADAM GATSI


Adam was born in Guruve in 1969 and is now married with two children. He did his secondary education at Kuwadzana high School. Soon after school he started sculpturing in Chitungwiza. He has participated in many exhibitions both in and outside Zimbabwe.

Adam’s first teachers in art were Chituwa Vermali and Nesbert Mukomberanwa. His main inspiration was Moses Masaya. Nicholas Mukomberanwa helped Adam in most of his creation during his early movements.

Some of Adam’s works are shown in different galleries in Harare. His works have also been exhibited in the USA, Ireland, France, Britain, Holland, Germany, Australia, and Botswana.


Until now Adams creations are massive moments of humans in day to day life and traditional shona surroundings. Adam’s work comprises of sharp edges, accurate, curly and straight lines are part of his art identification.
